We are very blessed to have such unique beauty here in very northern California. I was raised here in Del Norte County and moved to Portland, OR in 1989. Many years later I'm happily living here again and painting the nature around me.
While in Portland I graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Fine Arts in 1999. After graduation, I began focusing my painting on our beautiful and crystalline Smith River. I am entranced at the dance of shiifting light, color and shadow of the water and the rocks beneath. I also enjoy adding the figure to some of my paintings. My intention if to evoke memories for the viewer of being in such an environment and the peace those memories bring.
